The Village of Nittany Glen began as a condo association in 2008, managed by Continental Real Estate, State College, PA, with the original and current governing documents open to the public and listed on the Continental Public Condo Association Documents page under "N."

Nittany Glen transitioned to a condominium association (COA) with Executive Board members elected from the COA community as of 2019. Continental Real Estate remains as an advisory partner to the Nittany Glen COA, collects and helps to manage the monthly COA fees, and participates in annual meetings of the COA which are open to residents. The community spans over 200 acres, with the current residences ranging from one-floor ranch style homes without basements to two-story homes with basements. Currently, the community is made up of over 200 homes, with that number projected to grow to 300 over the next few years and with new construction in progress. New construction includes both two-story duplexes as well as individual homes.

We at the Village of Nittany Glen are a welcoming and growing community with residents ranging from retirees to young families with children. Although Nittany Glen is not affiliated with Penn State University, many of us are or were formerly employed at the university, are die-hard Penn State sports fans, and are active participants in the cultural life offered by State College. Some residents never lived in State College before or were never Penn State alumni but decided that this is a good place to raise a family, retire, or own a second home. With University Park airport just a mile away and having flights to popular destinations such as Florida, those “snowbird” residents who own a second home at Nittany Glen enjoy the convenience of easily traveling to and from State College.

As automatic members of a condo association by virtue of being residents, we elect Board members to ensure representative oversight and to provide vision for the current and future vibrancy of the community. We pay monthly COA fees of $200 that are partially used to finance grass cutting and snow removal, and we take pride in keeping our individual properties. The monthly fees also provide us with access to a community Clubhouse, built in 2009, which includes a large gathering space, a fitness room, and a small library. In 2019, we added a heated outdoor pool, with residents thoroughly enjoying seasonal use. Finally, the monthly fees cover maintenance costs for the pool and Clubhouse and help to ensure that we have reserve funds included in our carefully managed budget.

Residents enjoy these amenities and also serve as volunteers to help keep the community thriving. Currently, Nittany Glen has committees with over 40 members, and all residents are urged to participate in or even propose a new committee for the benefit of all those interested. Activities by our committees range from social events (holiday parties in the Clubhouse or outings at a local restaurant or winery) to contributing to a local food bank to maintaining the "Members Only" sections of this website. Many of our community members have pets and enjoy the safety of outdoor exercise in our own “country” neighborhood. Residents also have ready access to the nearby airport-themed Bernel Road Park, Toftrees Golf Resort, or one of the Fisherman’s Paradise Hiking Trails.

Whatever our backgrounds, careers, and activities, we all enjoy the quiet but active lifestyle afforded by what we agree is among the most desirable and affordable condo communities in the State College area.
